Receptionist

Responsibilities:  Front Desk Reception, Switchboard, and general administration duties including placing orders, sorting mail, other duties as assigned.

Experience: Previous administrative/ reception desk experience. Must be PC proficient with excellent organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Professional appearance and domineer.

Analytical Scientist

Sarasota, FL (open July, 2014)

Requirements: BS or MS level with 3 + years experience in industry. The applicant is required to have experience in LC-MS for proteomics and small molecule analysis, and should also have experience with a range of biochemical techniques including protein extraction and fractionation, method development, sample preparation for LC-MS, HPLC, etc. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in cGLP and cGMP environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate new analytical methods, conduct stability studies and perform sample testing to support regulatory submissions.
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced setting.
  • Over see sample preparation for LC-MS proteomics experiments.
  • Instrument maintenance and operation.
  • Ability to dissect problems and projects into manageable tasks.
  • Ability to accurately plan and define projects and timelines
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities
  • Data analysis and preparation of reports/publications, assist in contract writing.
  • Method development and validation at both R & D, as well as cGXP levels.
  • Communicating effectively and often with team members in order to facilitate constructive team interactions.
  • Experience with writing and executing protocols and reports for method validation

Nurse Practitioner - Part-time

Description: Evaluate and treat patients with neurologic complaints, under the guidance of an MD, with primary emphasis on memory disorders. Assist with assessments of subjects participating in clinical trials. Prescribes and/or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy or related therapeutic procedures. Records physical findings, discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician. Ability to maintain documentation accountability, have good patient and caregiver interaction (ability to communicate effectively with patients). Ability to maintain updated community support network information to assist with patient's needs.

Qualification/Experience: BSN, MSN in Nursing. Minimum 2 years clinical experience, preferably with geriatric population. Good computer skills a must (for electronic medical records auditing). Position requires ability to work with some degree of independence, as well as strong team member skills, having a high commitment to quality, attention to detail, high quality patient care, and the ability to multitask. A pleasant attitude toward work is a must.

Clinical Research Coordinator - Full time

Description: Coordinating activities for central nervous system clinical trials. Ability to perform clinical research skills such as: subject recruitment, screening for qualified subjects, informed consent process, phlebotomy (blood sample collection/preparation/shipping), source document design and case report form completion, maintain drug accountability records, dispense investigational medications to study subjects, complete query resolution, have good patient and caregiver interaction, able to communicate effectively with monitors and local vendors, and attend periodic investigator meetings. Ability to provide assistance with Regulatory documentation, including but not limited to: IRB submissions, progress and closure reports. A thorough knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is important. The ability to have a pleasant attitude toward work is a must.

Qualification/Experience: Minimum 2 years of pharmaceutical Clinical Research experience. Credentialed: Medical Technician/Assistant, FL licensed RN or LPN. Clinical Research Coordinator certification (CCRC), IV infusion experience, and ACLS certification a plus. Good computer skills a must. Position requires: ability to work with some degree of independence, having a high commitment to quality, attention to detail, high quality patient care, and ability to handle multiple protocols at a time.

PhD Studentship

Description: Roskamp Institute jointly with the Open University, UK offers doctoral degree in Neuroscience. There are two open PhD studentships currently available. Please follow instructions to apply. Applicants for the program will be required to complete the following application form and submit to the Roskamp Institute Program Administrator who will screen for eligibility. Eligible applications will be reviewed by the Roskamp Institute Research Degrees Coordinator and by the Roskamp Institute Admissions Committee and competitive applications will be selected for interview in person or by television/video conference. Qualification/Experience: Prospective candidate for admission for the Ph.D program must have:

  •  For UK students a Bachelor's degree of class 2.1 or higher in a biological sciences field.
  •  For US students a Master's degree in a biological sciences field or a Bachelor's degree plus either one year of post-graduate full-time laboratory research at the Roskamp Institute or two years of post-graduate full-time laboratory research with another institution and demonstrated productivity.
  •  For students from other countries equivalency to either UK or US student requirements as stated above Admission will be based on an evaluation by a Roskamp Institute committee and the Open University.

The Admission process will weigh many factors including the applicant's scholastic record, prior performance in laboratory research, letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and ultimately personal interviews. Successful candidates will be registered with The Open University in the United Kingdom. Application deadlines for each year: December 1, March 15, May 15, September 15.
